Policy
Content policy
Short and enforced. Nothing written by a claimant appears on this site before a moderator has read it.
updated 2026-01-15
Not allowed
- Hate speech, or attacks on people for who they are.
- Harassment of, or threats against, anyone.
- Impersonating a real person, business or institution.
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form, ever.
- Doxxing — addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, anything that locates someone.
- A third party's personal data published without a genuine connection to them and to the minute.
- Advertising, spam, links and anything that treats the register as a billboard.
Allowed, and welcome
Grief. Death. Illness. Divorce. The minute someone left, or died, or was told. This registry exists partly for those and we do not treat them as unpleasant subjects to be smoothed over. Name the people in your own life. Write plainly.
How moderation works
Every submission is screened automatically on the way in, and every submission goes to a human queue. The automated pass can refuse a claim outright only for the narrow categories above; everything else it is unsure about is flagged for a person rather than silently published or silently refused.
The minute is yours the moment you pay. Moderation governs only whether what you wrote is shown. If we cannot publish it, we refund you in full and release the minute — you are never left holding a minute you cannot use.
What we reserve
We may reject an entry before publication, redact part of one, refund it, or revoke it after publication. We will tell you which of the grounds above we relied on, in words, not a reference number. You can reply, and we read the replies.
Reporting something
Write to registry@ownminute.com or use the takedown route. If you are named in an entry and want it gone, say so and we will act first and work out the details afterwards.
Editing an entry later
You can edit your note from your account. It re-enters moderation and disappears from the public page until it clears. The minute itself can never change — it is the identity of the record, and changing it would mean issuing a different entry entirely.
